Group profile  

We are four students from the institute for media and information management. Our group name is Cv203C2. Here’s a little introduction about everyone. 

The first group member is Claudia Nieweg da Silva Marcos.Claudia is twenty years old, born in Lisbon, Portugal and is currently living in Amsterdam.She spent her childhood in Muiderberg living with her mother and their dog Mo. After high school she went to Sicily, to work as a volunteer at a school for poor children. She spent nine months in Palermo working on this project. When the project was done, she came back to Holland to study communications. Now she is a second year student at the institute for media and information management. When she has finished her study she wants to get a master degree in communications in San Francisco. And after that her dream is to move to Italy and work as head of PR for a clothing brand like D&G.  

The second group member is Rogier Scheick. Rogier is nineteen and also a student at institute for media and information management.Last year he chose Advertising, Marketing & Communication, that’s one of the five options in the second year for graduation. Before he started this study he was on a secondary school in Groenlo, in the eastern part of this country. He used to go to school and hang around with his friends. Groenlo is a small city with 11 thousand inhabitants. Rogier’s parents are still living there with his little sister. His other sisters moved to Deventer and Groningen. Rogier really wanted to move to Amsterdam, because he thinks it’s a beautiful city with an exciting atmosphere where every day is different from another day. But it was hard to find a room in Amsterdam, that’s why Rogier’s dad bought him a house. Now he’s living in Amsterdam with two girls in an apartment near to the institute.  

The third group member is Rick Slaathuis. Rick is twenty years old. He’s born in Oostmarsum, a small city next to the German boarder, in the east of Holland. After high school he went to the Saxion College in Enschede. There he followed the education Intergrale Veiligheidskunde. But Rick found out that this study wasn’t what he wanted to do, so he stopped. Now he’s a second year student at the institute for media and information management and enjoys it.Rick currently lives in Amsterdam and he really likes the city and ofcourse the nightlife.After this study he wants to get a master degree in marketing strategy, communications and likes to live the next few years in Amsterdam. Rick has one dream and that is: to have an own business, to become a good father and staying healthy for the rest of his life. 

The last but not least member of the group is Kimberly Vegting. Kimberly is twenty years old and born in Almere. She spent her childhood in Amsterdam and Almere and loves both of city’s. After high school Kimberly went to study Facility Management at the college Inholland in Diemen-Zuid. After two semesters Kimberly quit her study because she didn’t like the study and wanted some time for herself and work for one year. Everyone thought Kimberly wouldn’t go back to school but she did and now she a second year student at institute for media and information management and doing very well. After this study she wants to go to a foreign country to study at a university and get a master degree in communications. She prefers Australia but if it is in another country she’s fine with that. She just wants to see the world.  

Together with these four ambitious but very different people, we work on the project O’Neill campaign. 

O’Neill is one of the largest brand in surf and snowboard sportswear and accessories. O’Neill also sells clothes but mainly men buy them. But O’Neill also wants to sell clothes to women and especially girls. They made a summer collection and the target is to sell the products to girls between the age of seventeen till twenty. But the question is: how do we reach those girls?  

So O’Neill wants us to make an advertising campaign to attract girls in the age of seventeen-twenty. First we need to do research about what they are interested in, which brands they go for, where they party, where they shop etcetera. When al of those thing are explored, then we can start thinking about a way to reach the girls.  

The second problem that O’Neill has is that they got a website and a TV show called O’Neill TV. But the website and the show don’t seem to reach the targetgroup. We have to find a way to make both these objects attractive to girls from the age of seventeen till twenty but also for others visitors.

All the research is being analysed and processed and in the end we will make a recommendation to O’Neill and give a presentation at the head-office on 30 October in Warmond, Holland.
